WWE Raw Review 5/28/12

Note: This is the build up to the next PPV which is called No Way Out. We all know that John Cena will be facing Big Show. There will be other matches announced in the coming weeks. We also know that WWE Raw will be three hours in July. This might not be a good WWE Raw but we will see. Here’s WWE Raw.

Opening Segment: Big Show comes out to basically bitch at the audience and say that he will knock out Cena. Usual heel commentary.
(Big Show turning heel is kind of sad to see. We all knew it was coming and we all knew this was going to kill some time until Summer Slam. This actually was boring and sad to see. So I guess I will move on.)

Match#1: Alberto Del Rio vs. Santino Marella
Winner: Alberto Del Rio
(This was the result of what happened last Thursday with Ricardo Rodrigez vs. Santino Marella. This was a squash for ADR. He will be facing CM Punk for the WWE title at the PPV. It was ok to start Raw but lacked some pop. )

Match#2: Kofi Kingston and R-Truth vs. Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger – Tag Team Title Match
Winners: Little Jimmy in Paradise (Kofi and Truth)
(This was a good match. I love all the moving around. Not a slow match. We did see Ziggler finally walk away from Vickie and Swagger.)

Team Ace comes out to show the cover for the WWE 13 Video Game. It had Johnny Ace’s pic on it. CM Punk comes out to ruin the moment and show the real cover with has CM Punk on it. CM Punk tells them to clear the ring because he has a match.
(Thank you, CM Punk for getting Team Ace out the ring because we don’t need to hear them speak. Also, thank you for showing us the cover to the video game because it is not going to sell any games with Johnny Ace on the cover.)

Match#3: CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan – Non Title WWE Title Match
Winner: Daniel Bryan
(This was a good match to watch. I loved everything about this match. Both these guys put on a great match. Even AJ came out to support CM Punk. Kane came to ruin the after match but it was good to see all three guys active. )

Match#4: The Miz vs. Christian – Non Title IC Match.
Winner: Christian
(This was a good match even though both these guys should be main eventers. Cody Rhodes came out to talk about getting the IC title back but that made me want to see some of the young kids go for this title not The Miz, Christian or even Cody Rhodes. This was good to watch but said to see these guys in mid card hell. )

Match#5: David Otunga vs. Sheamus – Non Title WHC Title Match.
Winner: Sheamus
(This was a squash match for Sheamus. Otunga is basically a joke. He’s worse than Jonathan Coachman. Sheamus will be having more competition once we get closer to the PPV. This was a sad match. )

Main Event: Big Show vs. Brodus Clay
Winner: No Contest.
(This was to show how bad ass Big Show is now. There was no Cena and even seeing R-Truth and Kofi try to help Brodus Clay was sad. This was sad to watch but also because all the guys were laid out and decimated. This was a shitty way to end the show. )

Final Thoughts: Most of the show was good but the beginning and the end basically sucked. This was a shitty WWE Raw. I can imagine if this was a three hour show that I would have to end my watching at 10pm just to have a life. I hope TNA will be better this week. I also pray that WWE Smackdown is better but that’s hoping a lot. Until TNA Impact, see you all soon.

WWE Smackdown Review 5/25/12

Note: This should be a good show since WWE Raw ended with John Cena getting knocked out by Big Show. I hope for the best with WWE Smackdown because most of the roster on Smackdown is on Raw. With that said, here is WWE Smackdown.

Opening Segment: Eve Torres opens up SmackDown on behalf of John Laurinaitis. Alberto Del Rio interrupts and wants a World Heavyweight Title shot against Sheamus at No Way Out. This brings out Kane and Randy Orton, who also want title shots. Eve announces a three-way for later tonight to determine a new #1 contender.
(I don’t like Eve being the mouthpiece for Johnny Ace. She’s good to look at but not good to see as a heel. She’s not a good actress to begin with. ADR is a better actor than she is. I do like the main event being set up like this only because it is smart to do. )

WWE Intercontinental champion Christian defeated Hunico.
(Squash match for Christian. Hunico is a joke. Nothing else to say.)

Titus O'Neil and Darren Young beat The Usos.
(This was like watching two teams try to keep their jobs. Both these guys are still young and green. I would give this high marks but this match sucked. Boring as fucking hell…….)

Cody Rhodes cuts a promo and says he will get his Intercontinental Title back from Christian.
(Ugh! Moving on….)

Ryback comes out with a black eye and squashes two local wrestlers.
(Who cares? Not me……..)

WWE United States Champion Santino Marella defeated Ricardo Rodriguez.
(This was funny to watch. This was sad to see end. I guess this is the best match on the show so far. I know ADR will not like how this ended. )

World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus comes out and talks about John Laurinaitis and what happened on RAW. It sounds like he's going to apologize but he doesn't.
(Don’t care too much for this because he should not have to apologize for anything he did. Johnny Ace needs a real ass whooping.)

Sheamus defeated Jack Swagger with the Brogue Kick.
(Squash match for Sheamus. This was like watching a lion killing a gazelle. Cool at first but sad at the end. Circle of life in the WWE. )

Damien Sandow defeated Yoshi Tatsu with the neckbreaker.
(Why should I care about this match? Why should I care about these wrestlers?)

Big Show comes out and takes a seat in the ring. He feels betrayed by everyone and talks about John Laurinaitis re-hiring him. Show says he doesn't care about what anyone thinks because he doesn't care about the fans.
(Big Show as a heel now is not going to be right at first but it might work in the long run. I hope this works for WWE. )

Alberto Del Rio beat Kane and Randy Orton in a three-way to become the new #1 contender to the World Heavyweight Title. Bryan distracted Kane again which led to him getting a RKO. Del Rio broke the pin up and stole the victory from Orton to win. Sheamus came out and hit a Brogue Kick on Del Rio to end the show.
(This match saved the show. This was a good match. I wanted RKO to win but ADR is better suited for Sheamus. The whole issue with Kane and DB is going to be interesting to say the least. I hope they have a good match at the PPV. )

Final Thoughts: The ending was the only reason to have watched this episode. I feel that if Smackdown kept all their wrestlers on the show and not on WWE Raw, it might be better. I guess WWE Raw has to be better because if not, then when it is three hours, it might suck.

Funniest Thing Ever Seen on WWE TV - Episode 5

The title speaks itself. All I have to say is this made me shoot water out my nose.

TNA Impact Review 5/24/12

Note: This is TNA Open Fight Night. I like the premise of this because it is open fights. No more scripted shit for one night. I hope this picks up and also helps TNA gain some ground with WWE. This should be an interesting night. Here's TNA Impact.............

Opening Segment: Hogan has four guys in the office of TNA Impact Zone. AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, Bully Ray and Kurt Angle. He wants them to give a reason why they should be in the title match with Bobby Roode. This leads to matches that will get only one person for the title match with Bobby Roode.

Match#1: Gail Kim and Madison Rayne defeated ODB and Eric Young in a non-title match.
(This was fun to watch but they gotta do something about the women tag titles. I like ODB and EY together but not like this. I liked it at first but I later grown weary of their relationship. The tag titles are not it. I did get to see my crush Gail Kim. I keep saying that she is hotter in TNA only because she is wrestling more not being a diva. No comment on Madison Rayne. Not a fan.......)

Match#2: Rob Van Dam pinned Gunner.
(RVD earned his pay tonight. I think this was a dumb match. This was months in the making. Gunner is still a bad ass heel to me. )

Match#3: Devon and Garett Bischoff fought to a no-contest in a TV Title match.
(I am upset that this ended the way it did. I wanted the Bischoff kid to beat Devon and have a title in TNA. Anyone should win this title and force Devon to retire. Last week, I said he shouldn't but I changed my mind. Either put the title on someone else or retire it and Devon. )

Match#4: Austin Aries defeated Joey Ryan to retain the X Division Title.
(I love Austin Aries. This is going to be a good year for him. This was a training match for Ryan. I love the gut check matches because this is what WWE needs to do for NXT. Good match and thank you Austin for the wrestling lesson. )

Bully Ray called out Joseph Park from the stands. Park held a trial by fan reaction and the verdict was guilty. Ray punched him in the stomach and then hit him with his chain. He grabbed the mic and laid down in front of Park and yelled not guilty.
(The only reason why I even mentioned this is because this is setting up a match with Abyss and Bully Ray. I don't like Bully Ray. He needs to retire. He's not a main eventer. TNA must like him. I hate the fucker. I love how Abyss is doing dual roles. This is going to be a good match only because Abyss is back. )

Main Event:  Bobby Roode defeated A.J. Styles to retain the TNA Title.
(This was a good match only because both these men can put on a good match. AJ is the main stay of TNA. Roode is the best heel champ I have seen in years. This was a four star match. I loved this to be the end of the show but continue reading. )

Roode had a party for becoming the longest reigning TNA Champion. After confetti and champagne, Hogan came out. The lights went out and Hogan brought out a special guest: Sting! Sting beat Roode out of the ring.
(I should be happy to see Sting but I am more so pissed. I think it is because I think Sting needs to retire. Not come to WWE but retire for good. Seeing Sting is like seeing Hogan or Bischoff. Let the young guys run the show. Stop calling the old men to save the show. )

Final Thoughts: TNA will be live for the summer. No more spoilers! This is going to be interesting to see guys do things on live TV. All the guys from WWE knows how to do it but all the kids in TNA might goof up. Botchamania will be running wild in the summer. The show was good until the end. Why did they bring Sting back? I guess I will have to wait for the answer plus more stupid things TNA does next week. See you all for WWE Smackdown.

WWE Raw Review 5/21/12

Opening Segment:  John Cena called out Big Show after a long tiraid about the match at the last PPV. Then Johnny Ace, Eve and Big Show comes out. Johnny Ace made a match for No Way Out with Big Show and John Cena.

Match#1:  John Cena def. David Otunga
Winner: John Cena
(No comment. This was a squash match for Cena. Otunga was just a dumb patsy. Nothing else can be said.)

Match#2:  Randy Orton def. Alberto Del Rio by Disqualification
(Y2J had to ruin this match. This was a good match thanks to the actions of RKO. Y2J is killing me with this craziness with him targeting guys that can and will beat him. Y2J is not as cool as he use to be.)

Match#3:  Kane def. Daniel Bryan
(This was payback for CM Punk's match with can last Friday on WWE Smackdown. This was funny to see them do stuff a la Eddie Guerrero. Nice to see Kane still can be a monster. )

Match#4:  Intercontinental Champion Christian def. Jinder Mahal
(So Christian is a face? Ok good. No more Kill Switch/Unprettier? Ok then. So someone tell me why is this a good thing to see him have the IC title? Also why is Jinder still on WWE TV? Get rid of the bad guy stereotypes. )

Match#5:  Beth Phoenix def. Kelly Kelly
(I feel so sorry for Kelly to be in this match. What's sad is that Kelly can sell this match better than most of the women. Beth is getting the title back soon. I just want to see Kharma come in and kill Beth.)

Main Event:  John Cena & Sheamus vs. Tensai, Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger ended in a No Contest (2-on-3 Handicap Lumberjack Match)
(This match was to set up Big Show KO Cena again. This was not a fair match or a memorable one. )

Final Thoughts: So Big Show is a heel? Ok good for right now. Cena is still Superman? Why WWE? Most of the show was good only because of the guys doing what they can to sell the spots. I guess I am still puzzled with some of the shit that WWE puts on TV. Now WWE will be three hours. Holy fucking shit! That means I have to miss a good show just to see squash matches for the first hour. Until TNA Impact, please remember that wrestling in a gift, not something to abuse.

WWE Over The Limit PPV Review 5/20/12

Note:

Pre Show:  Zack Ryder vs. Kane

Match#1: People Power Battle Royal: The Great Khali, The Miz, JTG, Ezekiel Jackson, Curt Hawkins, Tyler Reks, Michael McGillicutty, Yoshi Tatsu, Tyson Kidd, Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Jinder Mahal, Drew McIntyre, Heath Slater, Darren Young, Titus O'Neil, Alex Riley, David Otunga, William Regal, Christian
Winner: Christian (as a face)
(This was a good way to finally change up the mid card title. Sad to see Christian back in mid card hell but it is better than nothing. We will find out who he will face later tonight. I love Battle Royals. )

Match#2: WWE Tag Team Title Match - Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger vs. R-Truth and Kofi Kingston
Winners: Kofi and Truth (Little Jimmy in Paradise)
(Good solid match. Nothing bad to say. Thank you guys for showing us decent tag team wrestling.)

Match#3: WWE Divas Title Match - Beth Phoenix vs. Layla
Winner: Layla
(This was a good divas match but where is Kharma. Also why is Layla still holding the title. )

Match#4: World Heavyweight Title Match - Alberto Del Rio vs. Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus
Winner: Sheamus
(Nothing bad to say. Good match. I miss things like that. )

Match#5: WWE Intercontinental Title Match - Christian vs. Cody Rhodes
Winner: Christian (New IC Champ)
(This was a quality match. Sad to see Cody lose the title but then again, it is sad to see Christian slum it back in WWE. Thank you guys for a great match. )

Match#6: WWE Title Match - CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan
Winner: CM Punk
(The end of the match will be debated for years to come. These guys can put on a good match. The only thing would have been better if this was a gimmick match. This was a good match. I think we will see only good matches from these friends. )

Match#7: Camacho vs. Ryback
Winner: Ryback
(THIS WAS A BULLSHIT MATCH!!!!!! REALLY????)

Main Event: Johnny Ace vs. John Cena
Winner: Johnny Ace with an assist by Big Show (heel turn)
(This was a comedic match for the most part. However, the ending pissed me off. So you going to turn Big Show into a heel so he can face Cena. I spent most of my TV watching just to see Big Show on WWE TV. Now he's a heel.....why? I guess I will find out on WWE Raw. )

Final Thoughts: Up until the last two matches, this was going to be a good PPV. I guess since this was a throw away PPV that WWE just had good matches until the end. I guess WWE Raw will answer my questions. I am just happy to see one title change. Good night and see you all for WWE Raw.

WWE Smackdown Review 5/18/12

Note: After the events on WWE Raw, I am going to try to watch this show without getting super pissed. I just watch a good TNA and want to end the week with some good wrestling not shitty opera stuff. With that said, this is WWE Smackdown........

Opening Segment:  John Laurinaitis opens the show and talks about facing John Cena at Over the Limit. Laurinaitis wants sympathy and wants the fans to pray for him. Punk comes out and is glad that Laurinaitis will finally be terminated after John Cena beats him on Sunday. Punk wishes Laurinaitis the best in his future endeavors to a big pop from the crowd. Punk goes on ripping Laurinaitis until he's had enough. Laurinaitis tells everyone to go to hell and announces Punk vs. Kane for tonight.
(Thank you CM Punk for starting the show with some pipe bombs . I love the way these guys interact with each others. I love this segment because we could see the end of Johnny Ace at the PPV. This was a good way to start the show. )

Match#1: Sandow comes out as Yoshi Tatsu waits in the ring. Sandow cuts a promo and doesn't think Tatsu is worthy of wrestling him tonight. Yoshi taunts Sandow and calls him a chicken. Sandow lays Tatsu out with a modified neckbreaker and leaves.
(Boring! Boring! Bullshit! Moving on…….)

Match#2: Daniel Bryan beat Zack Ryder with the Yes Lock.
(This was a good match to see. It was nice to see both these guys can give us a good match on TV. Maybe someday this could be a title match. Zack Ryder is good at being a goof but can get it done in the ring. DB is DB. So this was a good match. Better than the previous match. )

Match#3: Kane beat CM Punk by DQ with Danial Bryan staying out for commentary. Bryan tried to interfere with a chair shot but hit Kane instead. Kane, thinking Punk hit him with the chair, laid the WWE Champion out.
(This was a great match to see on TV but was wasted because of the ending. This was more for PPV but then again, it was nice to see the progression on both CM Punk/DB feud. Kane is going to retire in the sunset soon but he still can go. Great match until the ending. )

Match#4: Santino Marella beat Cody Rhodes in a champion vs. champion match.
(This was a wasted match because this could have been done to merge the titles. Both guys can wrestle but then again, the titles are pointless and useless now. It was a good match but wasted. )

Main Event: Randy Orton defeated Sheamus with a roll-up. After the match, they shake hands, but Orton RKOs Sheamus.
(I loved this match. It was a clean finish and no interference. Nothing else can be said about this match.)

Fianl Thoughts: This was a great way to lead into the PPV. All the matches look good but this is a dumb PPV. This and the next one are filler for SummerSlam. I hope nothing goes wrong at the PPV. Until then see you all for WWE Raw.

TNA Impact Review 5/17/2012

Note: This is the first Impact after the PPV. I hope we will move on and forward. This should be an interesting show because not much occurred during the PPV. I guess nothing else to say except here's TNA Impact.......

Opening Segment: Bobby Roode comes out and brags about his victory over RVD at Sacrifice. Because he is going to be the longest World Champion in TNA history he wants a celebration party. He calls out Hogan to confirm. Hogan declines it then later announces that at next week’s Open Fight Night, the World Title will be defended. There will be a series of matches (Bully Ray vs RVD, Anderson vs Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe vs Kurt Angle and a Battle Royal) with the winners facing off next week in a Fatal 4-Way. The winner of that match will face Roode later in the night for the World Heavyweight Title.

Match#1:  Bully Ray defeated Rob Van Dam to advance to next week’s 4-Way
(Will someone explain to me why Bully Ray is a main eventer? What the fuck is going on with TNA and Bully Ray? RVD is there for the paycheck but why is Bully Ray still there? My god, this is not good to start the show. )

Match#2:  AJ Styles won a 10-Man Battle Royal (also included Austin Aries, Robbie E and Robbie T, Devon, Garett Bischoff, Crimson, Magnus, Eric Young and Gunner. After the match, Hogan congratulated AJ.
(This has my vote for match of 2012. This was cool to see and watch. Not only did I see things that made me want to watch this match but also gave us a chance to see guys shine. Even Devon made me re-think his retirement. This was a good match. AJ and Austin Aries stole this thing at the end. That would be a good match to see soon. Good job TNA with this match. )

Match#3:  Gail Kim defeated Velvet Sky and Brooke Tessmacher when she stole a pin from Velvet Sky to retain the Knockouts Title.
(Holy shit! This was a good match as well. Even though most of the match was slow at times, this made me watch the match all the way. I cannot believe I saw a real women wrestling not models trying to wrestle. My crush Gail Kim is still champ but she made this look good. )

Match#4:  Jeff Hardy defeated Mr. Anderson to advance to next week’s 4-Way.
(This was a good match but I guess I would rather have seen Anderson win. I really think Jeff Hardy is not going to be a TNA champ but he will be a good mid card wrestler. I might not like Hardy but I do respect him. As for Anderson, time for the Asshole to get some gold. )

Main Event:  Kurt Angle defeated Samoa Joe to advance to the 4-Way by reversing the Musclebuster into a rollup. Bobby Roode (who was on commentary) had a few words with Angle after the match. Eventually Hardy came to ringside followed by Bully Ray and AJ Styles on the stage. Roode had a staredown with his four potential challengers.
(I miss this from TNA. Give the fans what they want to see. Also love the ending of the show. This was a good way to end the show. )

Final Thoughts: Well the good news is that this is a change for the better. Why is Bully Ray a main eventer? My letter to him was to defer him to leave. Everything else seems good for me. I don’t know why they are doing an angle with AJ Styles and Dixie Carter. Focus on the wrestling and not on the bullshit drama. I am still waiting for the wrestling in TNA to matter. Until WWE Smackdown, see you all soon.

WWE Raw Review 5/14/12

Note: This should be an interesting WWE Raw. John Cena and Triple H will be back on TV. Also John Cena and Johnny Ace will face off. I hope CM Punk will be in action and also some good things because watching WWE Raw lately is hard to do. Johnny Ace is going through a big power struggle as of late. So with all that, here's WWE Raw.......

Opening Segment: Triple H is on the way to the ring. Johnny Ace stops him and tells him some bullshit. Triple H will speak his mind in the ring and good luck with John Cena this Sunday at the Over The Limit PPV. Triple H comes to the ring and rips Brock Lesnar. Paul Heyman and some lawyer guy comes in to serve Triple H with lawsuit for Brock Lesnar. Triple H attacks Paul Heyman and he says he will sue him as well.
(This is going to be a dumb and long drawn way for the hype with Triple H and Brock Lesnar. I can't wait for them to wrestle or actually fight. This was total bullshit though. )

Match#1: CM Punk and Santino Marella vs. Daniel Bryan and Cody Rhodes
Winners: CM Punk and Santino Marella
(Please explain why is CM Punk starting the show. What the fuck? This is suppose to be done on Smackdown but not on WWE Raw. Really? I am already pissed because the opening segment was lame but now I have to see my boy do a match early. It was a good match but what the fuck.)

Match#2: Beth Phoenix vs. Alicia Fox
Winner: Beth Phoenix
(This was a squash for Beth. Layla should be scared but then again, I hope Kharma comes soon we can see a real womens wrestling match. Alicia Fox can sell the hell out of getting the shit beat out of her.)

Match#3: Big Show vs. Kane
Winner: Kane
Bad News: Show is fired from WWE (alledgedly)
(So this was suppose to be Big Show's last match but I call bullshit. This was a total joke to me. Not only did Johnny Ace distract Big Show but this was a waste of time. I hope Big Show kills Johnny Ace ASAP.)

Match#4: Brodus Clay, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth vs. The Miz, Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger
Winners: Brodus, Kofi and R-Truth
(This was the clusterfuck moment of the night. Too many bodies moving around in this match. Love the ending but still a huge clusterfuck. )

Match#5: Chris Jericho vs. Randy Orton
Winner: Y2J by DQ with an assist to Sheamus
(This was a good match until the end. I do think it was a nice setup to the Final 4 Way WHC Title Match. This did have some good spots and points from Sheamus in the match. The ending sucked though.)

The Main Event: John Cena and Johnny Ace in the ring. Laurinaitis talks about how good he is and how John Cena is a loser. He says he will prove after that Over the Limit, all of the fans are losers. Laurinaitis goes on and John Cena's music interrupts. Cena comes out and starts sniffing Laurinaitis. He says desperation is such a stinky cologne and starts making jokes on Laurinaitis. Cena rips into Laurinaitis for how he fired Big Show. Cena runs down some of Laurinaitis' failures and calls him a loser. Cena calls Laurinaitis a loser about 20 times and mocks Jim Carrey. Cena goes on and asks the fans how many want to beat Laurinaitis. Everyone cheers. Cena goes on and on, saying he will destroy Laurinaitis at Over the Limit. Laurinaitis tries to talk and Cena just interrupts him by calling him a loser again. In honor of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Cena tells Laurinaitis to go "puck" himself and tosses a hockey puck on the mat. Laurinaitis says he's taller than Cena and better looking than him. Eve Torres comes walking down and whispers something. She hands a paper to Laurinaitis but Cena snatches it out of his hand. The Board says their match at Over the Limit will be a singles match, there will be no special referee or anything, any Superstar who interferes will be terminated and if Laurinaitis loses the match, he will be fired as well. Cena's music hits but he wants to hear the big announcement that they were hyping earlier. Laurinaitis just smacks Cena and leaves the ring. Laurinaitis storms off to the back as Cena looks off and RAW goes off the air.
(This is from NoDq.Com's recap of the ending of Raw. I had to use it because it tells the ending of the show better than I could. This was the funniest thing I ever saw on Raw in years. I still don't like Cena but he did get my attention. What's funny is the smack at the end and also the match for this Sunday. Johnny Ace could be fired. )
Final Thoughts: The show as a whole was good until the Big Show firing. I know he's not fired but we will see. The ending made the rest of the show look good. I guess I will have to watch this bullshit PPV to see what goes on with WWE. I also hope that Smackdown is good this week and also TNA Impact. Until then, go puck yourself Big Johnny!

TNA Sacrifice PPV 5/13/12

Note: This should be an interesting PPV only because the hype or lack there of for this PPV. Abyss came back and I hope make an apearance. Also want to see some wrestling not dumb drama bullshit. I hope this is a good PPV. Here's TNA Sacrifice PPV........

Tag Team Title Match: Daniels and Kazarian vs. Samoa Joe and Magnus
Winners: Kaz and Daniels (New Champs)
(This was a good match. I hate that Joe and Magnus will be breaking up soon. I am happy to see Daniels and Kaz do something aside from being snitches at AJ Styles.)

Knockout Title Match: Brooke Tessmacher vs. Gail Kim
Winner: Gail Kim
(Thank you Gail for schooling this girl. I am also happy this was a good match even though Gail Kim basically had to carry this match. Good match though. )

TV Title Match: Robbie E vs. Robbie T vs. Devon
Winner: Devon
(Don't care and this was bullshit.)

Mr. Anderson vs. Jeff Hardy
Winner: Mr. Anderson
(Good match but they fucked up the ending. Botchamania should be doing something about this match soon. Still a good match even with the fuck up at the end. )

Crimson vs. Eric Young
Winner: Crimson

Bully Ray vs. Austin Aries
Winner: Austin Aries
(Good match. Thank you Austin Aries and Joseph Park for making this good to see. I still hate Bully Ray. Sorry but he need to retire ASAP. )

Kurt Angle vs. AJ Styles
Winner: Kurt Angle
(Good match to say the least. I spoke to soon about Kaz and Daniels messing with AJ. Nice save for Angle. This was a classy match. )

World Heavyweight Title Match/Ladder Match: Rob Van Dam vs. Bobby Roode
Winner: Bobby Roode
(Typical Roode match. Nothing to say. He's cool as a heel and RVD just got his paycheck for the month. Nothing else to say. )

Final Thoughts: Most of the matches made me happy until the end. Roode is still the man but he's getting lame now. I hope TNA Impact is better this week. Until then, see you all for WWE Raw.

Gene The Grappler

Dear TNA Impact (May 2012 Edition)

Dear TNA Impact,

This show is not a guilty pleasure for me. This show is not something I get excited to watch most weeks. This show is not something I want to watch alone. I watch your show because I feel people need to either hear the good from this show or the recipe for a huge clusterfuck. I know I have wrote this letter before but things kinda changed since the last letter to you. I have some points to either repeat or state that could change things for 2012, especially before Bound For Glory PPV.
  1. X Division and the Title – Good work on having more attention and time for this division and title. However, where is all the guys in the X Division? What happened to the guys that were gunning for the X Division Title? Less attention on guys like Bully Ray and Matt Morgan and have guys like Zema Ion, and even the MCMGs go after the title and also Austin Aries.
  2. Knockout Division and the Title – Good work on getting the belt on Gail Kim. She is a real women wrestler. However, what the fuck is going on with some competiton for Gail Kim. Did ODB disappear? No more Mickie James? Someone that can wrestle should be gunning for the title. Nothing against women like Brooke Tessmacher and Velvet Sky but I watch TNA for wrestling not models trying to wrestle. WWE does that for me. Get some real women to wrestle Gail Kim.
  3. TNA Mens and Womens Tag Team Titles- Magnus and Joe are the shit for the men. As for the womens, we need to do something quick. Nothing against ODB and EY but we need to put those titles up ASAP. As for Joe and Magnus, they need real competition. Daniels and Kaz are it but only if they stop focusing on AJ Styles.
  4. TV Title- Why does Devon have this title? Why is this title still active? No one can answer this question or the other question because no one can think of a good reason. I really think this title and division should be eliminated. Because if this is going to be around, then either get the belt off Devon or give it back to the Jersey Shore rejects.
  5. TNA Heavyweight Division and Title – Bobby Roode is a good heel champion. Most of the guys in the division are good. For the exception of Bully Ray in the main event, this is going to be your crowning achievement. The only way you could fuck this up is to bring back someone that would ruin the scheme of things. Please don’t fuck this up.

This is only a small snippet of what can change things for TNA and TNA Impact. Hulk Hogan, Dixie Carter, Jeff Jarrett, and even Eric Bischoff need to leave this to the young people. Don’t bring back Sting! No more showcasing Hogan, Flair or the older men. Let the kids run the show!

Dear WWE NXT (May 2012 Edition)

Dear WWE NXT,

It took me a long while to finally gather my thoughts to come up with sentences to write this to you. NXT is something that I wish I could wrap my head around. NXT is part soap opera and part wrestling. My colleague Matt Ward writes about you in his blog but this is my take on NXT. I want to write to you all as a group because there are some things that I wish could be done to make this show more about the wrestling and less about the goofy soap opera element. I think I might have done this already but this is a fresh take after watching and seeing some improvements.

  1. Incentive- Aside from a contract to get on Raw or Smackdown, what else is there to gain from being on NXT? There needs to be a money in the bank event or a tournament to become the NXT champion. There needs to be something to make NXT appealing to the rookies and other guys on NXT.
  2. Appeal- Raw and Smackdown have their own ways to appeal to people to watch the show. Raw is the flagship show. Smackdown is the other show. What is NXT? Make the show more appealing to people.
  3. Roster Adjustments- Like with Raw and Smackdown, there should be a draft to switch some of the people on the show. Regal and Striker should be the GM and Assistant GM of the show but the cast needs a change.
  4. Network- As much as I like to watch NXT on Youtube, it is time to either put the show on a network. I hope with the WWE Network coming soon that will be some room for this show. If not then Syfy has room somewhere for this show.

These are only a few ideals of how to change things on WWE NXT but these are the main things to shoot for to change and make this the rookie show for the WWE. This is where the kids can be grown so to speak.

Dear Bully Ray of TNA

Dear TNA “Superstar” Bully Ray,

Who the fuck are you? I don’t know why you have to be on TV every week. I don’t know what person you had to blow to be an attraction. I have been waiting for months to finally go off on you and the reasons why you need to fucking retire. I am not a fan and I don’t care if you ever read this letter but someone needs to ask you: Why the fuck are you on TV?
  1. You cannot wrestle as a single wrestler – Who told you that you could be a champion aside from a tag team wrestler? As a tag team wrestler, you were good only because of Devon. As a single wrestler, you suck!
  2. Why are you in the main event most of the time? – There are guys more suitable to be in the main event than you are. Even fucking Jeff Hardy with his drug addictions should have more time in the main event. You need to retire or go to the back.
  3. Retirement – As I eluded in the last point, please retire. Why are you still actively wrestling? What do you have to prove?

This is a simple letter for you to go away in the sunset. So for the love of God, go home and wait for the WWE to put you in the Hall of Fame. And as a bonus, take your former friend and partner Devon with you. Retire!

WWE Smackdown Review 5/11/12

Note: I hope for great things this week after last week’s so –so effort. I guess I do ask for a lot but it is worth it. Here’s WWE Smackdown………

No Opening Segment!

Match#1: Sheamus and Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho and Alberto Del Rio
Winners: No One
(This will be explained or expanded later in the show. This was fun to see at first because it is time for some hype and drama in the World Heavyweight Title picture. I do liked that RKO is back in the title hunt. Also nice to see ADR gain some popularity or heel heat for the audience.)
Match#2: AJ Lee vs. Kaitlyn
Winner:  AJ Lee
(I hated this match! Why? Why? This was a quick and dumb match to boost a storyline. I hate you WWE for killing the divas division. Good thing DB is still a DB. )

Match#3: Daniel Bryan vs. Big Show
Winner: Daniel Bryan with help from John Laurinaitis
(So so match but Johnny Ace fucked it all up over the fact that Big Show mocked Johnny Ace. Why WWE? Why? This is going to piss me off even more. Johnny Ace is beginning to fuck up WWE TV. Jesus Christ!!!!)

Match#4: Ryback vs.  Heath Slater
Winner: Ryback
(Boring. Moving on to something else.)

Match#5: Antonio Cesaro vs. Alex Riley
Winner: Antonio Cesaro
(Channel changer. I don't care. )

Match#6: Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio
Winner: RKO by DQ
(Thank you WWE for getting back on track here. This was a good match until RR got involved and also when ADR didn't break the hold. This was a good match. This was worth watching. )

R-Truth vs. Jack Swagger
Winner: R-Truth
(This was a good match. Little Jimmy and Kofi with the save. I miss seeing R-Truth actually wrestle. He can go. Swagger and Ziggler can wrestle and work together as well. This was a good match after seeing the previous match.)
Titus O'Neil and Darren Young  vs.  Santino Marella and Zack Ryder
Winner: NXT Boys
(Sad to see the seasoned wrestlers job to the NXT boys but it was for the best. Nothing else to say for this match. )

Brodus Clay vs. Hunico

Winner: Brodus Clay

(Boring match.)

Main Event: Sheamus vs. Chris Jericho
Winner: Sheamus by DQ.
(This was kind of slow to me. I guess because Y2J had to make this good for Sheamus but then again, Sheamus beat DB in seconds. )

Final Thoughts: The ending of the show was better than the beginning. I am happy this ended the way it did. I am glad that WWE ended the week with some simplicity not the usual way to end the show. See you all for WWE Raw and also TNA Sacrifice PPV.

TNA Impact Review 5/10/12

Note: TNA was good last week. I hope it is better this week. I also hope for more wrestling and less talk but that's like asking for summer to come in the winter. So here is TNA Impact...........

Opening Segment:  Bobby Roode comes to the ring and brags about how he will soon be the longest reigning TNA World Champion in history. Rob Van Dam, then Mr. Anderson and then Jeff Hardy all come to the ring and attack Roode. There is also some infighting between Anderson and Hardy as well. Hulk Hogan announces a 4-Way Match tonight with the winner getting something special. If Anderson or Hardy win they take RVD's spot on Sunday. If Roode wins then he chooses his opponent on Sunday. If RVD wins then he gets to pick the stipulation for Sunday's match.
(This was kinda boring because I wish for more fighting and less talking. Again, this is the company that says wrestling matters. So fuck the talking and wrestle! I wish they take a page from the WWE book and just start the show with a match then do the talking. It makes more sense to me that way. )

Match#1: Brooke Tessmacher vs. Velvet Sky
Winner: Brooke T.
(Watching this match does two things to me. As a man, seeing two women bounce around in the ring is a big turn on. As a wrestling fan, seeing two women wrestlers in the ring flipping and fling each other around is something I miss in the WWE. This was an ok match. I guess I could give this a good grade only because the women are hot and they can wrestle. Nice cameo by my TNA crush: Gail Kim. She's hotter in TNA than in WWE. )

Match#2: Matt Morgan vs. Crimson
Winner: Crimson by Count Out
(This was total bullshit. Bully Ray is getting to piss me off. Crimson is going to be second on that list of people that piss me off. Total bullshit. Moving on.)

Match#3: Austin Aries vs.  Zema - X Division Title Match
Winner: Austin Aries
(These guys can put up some good matches. I love this match only because I can't get tired of this. X Division is the best thing in TNA. This is better than seeing Cody Rhodes or Santino defend their WWE titles. These guy do what WWE stop doing. Aerial moves and quick paced matches. I miss this so badly. Like the chants.....This is wrestling!)
Kazarian and Daniels came to the ring and called out AJ to admit his secret. AJ eventually came out but didn't admit anything saying there wasn't anything on him. Daniels and Kazarian then revealed a series of photos one of which was AJ Styles and Dixie Carter kissing. The segment ended with AJ in shock.
(Nothing to do with wrestling. Not going to comment. Don't care if he did make out with her. Moving on. )

Devon vs. Robbie E - TV Title Match
Winner: Devon
(Boring and idiotic. Why is Devon champ? Why is this an important match? Why don't Devon retire with Bully Ray? Moving on. )

Joseph Park comes to the ring and talks about his search for his brother. He calls out Bully Ray who obliges. Park has a few words for Ray but ends up eating a punch ending the segment.
(This should be good only because when Abyss comes back. I think Abyss is like Taker and Kane of the TNA. I miss Abyss. I miss wrestling. Does wrestling matter now?)

Main Event:  Rob Van Dam vs. Bobby Roode vs. Mr. Anderson vs. Jeff Hardy in a Fatal 4-Way Match
Winner: RVD
(This has all the right ingredients to make a TNA clusterfuck. This match was a clusterfuck. No guys were in the ring at the same time. However, we saw three finishers at the same time. Nice to see something good at the end of TNA. Roode is still the man in TNA. )

Final Thoughts: Seeing Abyss at the end just made me want to see next weeks show to see what Abyss does back in TNA. No more little brother looking. This show was saved by the Knockouts and the last match. So I guess the PPV will keep me informed as to what is going to happen. So see you all for WWE Smackdown and also the TNA PPV Sacrifice.

WWE Raw Review 5/7/12

Note: This should be a interesting Raw. No Brock and Cena is not in action. This might be good or bad. Here's WWE Raw.

Opening Segment: CM Punk and Johnny Ace have words in the ring. Johnny Ace shows his accomplishments while wrestling in Japan. CM Punk basically disrespects Johnny Ace.
(This was a good segment because you learn more about Johnny Ace’s accomplishments. CM Punk is still the man in WWE. This is how you start a WWE show. Just get to the point and move on. That’s real people power. )

Match#1: Big Show vs. Cody Rhodes
Winner: Big Show by Count Out
(Big Show can do a good impersonation of Johnny Ace. This was a good match to start the show. I still think these men can have a good match. David and Goliath with a twist but the ending sucked. Total heel move on Cody’s part. )

Match#2: Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston
Winner: Ziggler
(This was a good match. Dolph is a show off. I am becoming a fan of DZ. Kofi is happy to have a partner that is not getting high or is gone. This was a good match only because of the interactions in and out the ring.)

Match#3: Divas Champion Layla and Kelly Kelly vs. Natalya and Maxine
Winners: Divas Champion Layla and Kelly Kelly
(Beth was at ringside but I loved the match itself. Sorry but I am finding myself watching Divas matches more because it’s been getting good now. What is making me like it more is that we got more women wrestling not models. )

Match#4: Chris Jericho and Alberto Del Rio vs. World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus and Randy Orton
Winners: Chris Jericho and Alberto Del Rio
(I loved this match because it gave RKO some better completion. Shemus is the man but RKO is going to get another title push ASAP. The ending was epic but after the match was even better for fans of all the men involved. OMG, I have faith with WWE for the WHC. )

Match#5: Brodus Clay vs. The Miz
Winner: Brodus Clay
(Nothing can be said about this match. The Miz is in mid card hell and Brodus in a pawn in Vince’s sick game of life. Moving on.)

In the ring…….: Paul Heyman comes back to WWE to represent Brock Lesnar.
(Holy shit! Paul E. comes back to WWE. As a ECW mark, I am happy to see him. I don’t care about this angle or storyline. I am happy to see him back for a second. I cannot wait for Paul E. to show these motherfuckers why he’s the best manager and mouthpiece ever!)

Main Event: CM Punk vs. Lord Tensai and Daniel Bryan
Winners: Lord Tensai and Daniel Bryan
(This was a bullshit match! I would have rather watched Bobby Roode vs. James Storm. This was only because Punk dissed Johny Ace. The match was ok but not good to end the show. )

Final Thoughts: Other than seeing Paul E. come back to WWE TV, this show was ok but I wished for more matches and less talk. Loved the Divas match. Would love to see more NXT people come to Raw or Smackdown more often. Time to do more and not fuck over the fans. See you all for TNA Impact.

WWE Smackdown Review 5/5/12

Note: This is WWE Smackdown.....

Opening Segment: World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus called out Daniel Bryan for a match. Sheamus beats Bryan by DQ when #1 contender Alberto Del Rio interfered. Bryan and Del Rio have words after the match.
(This was a good way to start WWE Smackdown. Nice to see ADR gain more ground as the heel of Smackdown. Also nice to see DB become a mega DB. This was good for the fans to see because it is nice to see change. )

WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and R-Truth defeated Hunico and Camacho.
(I was shocked to see them win but happy to see change. This is better for Kofi because at least his partner will not get high or break his foot. I am still tired of the mexican stereotypes in WWE. Moving on.)

Brodus Clay loses to  Jack Swagger by DQ after interference from Dolph Ziggler.
(This was funny as hell to watch but sad to see. I feel for Ziggler because he should be going after a title not being 2nd to anyone. Swagger does belong in mid card hell. Brodus is still lame but he's growing on me. Someone please shut up Vickie.)

Ryback beats Derrick Bateman.
(SQUASH match...........)

Randy Orton and Big Show beat Kane and Cody Rhodes.
(This was the best match of the night. I can see Cody wrestling RKO some day. Kane and Big Show can still have a good three star match. Cody is going to get out of mid card hell and be a better man than his father. I loved this match because this was a clean and great paced match. )

Layla defeated Natalya in a non-title match.
(I watched this match but I was too busy watching the women. I have a crush on Layla and Natalya. This was still a good Divas match. So nice to see my two crushes in the ring. I wish I was the ref in this match. )

Sheamus defeated Daniel Bryan with a Brogue Kick.
(This is still a good feud to watch. ADR does add more heel heat to the feud. Love to see Sheamus battle to keep the WHC title. WWE might have picked up the pace with this title and stop treating this as a shitty title.)

Final Thoughts: This could have been a better WWE Smackdown if there was more matches and less talk. No Johnny Ace! Really? Eve was in charge? WTF! This would have been better. The new guys are going to come in and make this better. Good night and see you all for WWE Raw.

TNA Impact Review 5/4/12

Note: Here's TNA Impact........

Opening Segment: Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan going back and forth on the mic, teasing a match for down the line.
(This is like watching old WCW or WWF. This was not as bad as I thought. However, this was not a good way to start the show but it made me wish these guys could wrestle. So if Flair is a wrestling god then what is JBL?)

Match#1: Brooke Tessmacher and Velvet Sky defeated TNA Knockouts champion Gail Kim and Madison Rayne.
(This was a decent match to watch. However, it was too stiff for me. Gail Kim was still good but the other ladies looked stiff and slow at times. I will not say this was a bad match but it was better than a WWE diva match this week. Gail Kim is a wrestling goddess. I will be sad if Brooke becomes Knockout champ.)

Match#2: TNA TV champion Devon defeated Robbie T by DQ when Robbie E. interfered.
(Really? I think this made me wish Devon could just drop the title. Why is he wrestling guys half his age? This is not only sad to see but funny as hell to watch. This is almost painful to bear.)

Match#3: Rob Van Dam defeated Jeff Hardy.
(This was like watching old WWE. These guys can wrestle but I think these men are past their prime. This was a good match though but if WWE did this match, it would be for the IC or Light Heavyweight title. These men are title contenders. Love the fast pace as well. Thank you TNA for this match. )

Match#4: AJ Styles & Samoa Joe & Magnus defeated Kurt Angle & Christopher Daniels & Kazarian after a Styles Clash on Kazarian. Angle was upset with his partners. Daniels claims that if Styles doesn't reveal the secret next week, they will.
(Good match. Nice to see some changes. Didn't know Samoa Joe and Magnus were faces. I thought they were heels. This was good to watch. Don't care about this secret bullshit though. )

Main Event: TNA champ Bobby Roode defeated Mr. Anderson in a No DQ match. Hardy got involved and it ended with Roode laying everyone, including RVD who hit the scene to help, out with chairs.
(This was as close to a PPV match as TNA could get. However, this is going to be lame to me now that both RVD and Roode are playing the same character. RVD is cooler but Roode is trying to hard. )

Final Thoughts: This was a decent show but could have been better. I skipped the non wrestling segments in this episode because in TNA only the wrestling matters. I can say that the last two weeks on TNA are getting better but I know if it gets good, then shitty stuff will come back to bite me hard. So good night and see you all for WWE Smackdown.
