WWE Raw Review 8/20/12

Note: Today is my birthday. I am closer to 40 years old. I am a wrestling fan. I watched Summer Slam and hope that tonight is a good show. Not because it is my birthday, but because WWE fans need something good to see. With that said, here's WWE Raw.

Opening Segment: Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman segment.
(This was my favorite part of the show. Why? Because I don't have to see these men again until Survivor Series. This was good because this means Triple H is done. I hope this is done for now. I was tired of seeing Paul Heyman do the talking and Brock bouncing around.)

Match#1: Kofi Kingston, R-Truth and Sin Cara vs. Titus O'Neil, Darren Young and Cody Rhodes
Winners: Sin Cara, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth
(This was funny to watch because it was like watching a bunch of men jumping around in the ring. This was close to be a clusterfuck but it saved itself. I love Little Jimmy in Paradise. )

Match#2: Ryback vs. Mike Spinner and Andy
Winner by DQ: Ryback
(Jinder Mahal came out to distract Ryback but I liked the fact that this was basically like watching Ryback kill some jobbers. Jinder is going to be a jobber soon because he is losing the fans. Thank you god for that.)

Match#3: Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio
Winner: Randy Orton
(RKO won! Cool. ADR is still a heel. I don't really care. This was not a boring match but there is not a lot to bitch about with this match. )

Match#4: Brodus Clay vs. Damien Sandow
Winner: Damien Sandow
(These men in an angle is like watching paint dry then looking at the sun. It is boring and painful. Moving on.)

We see Shawn Michaels at home being prepped for the satellite interview. Shawn has his arm in a cast. Cole is live via satellite with Shawn Michaels from his home in Texas. Cole asks his feelings on what happened at SummerSlam. Shawn says he thinks he knows what's going through Triple H's head right now. Shawn talks about preparing for your career to end but says there's really nothing that prepares you for that day. Shawn says Triple H is a warrior and always has been, a man of honor and integrity - something Heyman and Lesnar would know nothing about, he says. Shawn says Triple H gave everything he had every night and SummerSlam was no exception. Shawn wonders if things would have been different if he was in Triple H's corner. Shawn says he should have told Triple H the truth - that he didn't think Triple H could beat Lesnar. Shawn starts to get emotional and says Triple H has nothing to be ashamed of. Shawn calls him one of the greatest Superstars to ever live. Shawn says he has always respected him and will always be proud of him, and always love him. Shawn thanks Triple H for a job well done on behalf of the WWE Universe.
(This was a touching segment. I am glad to see that HBK can act. This was suppose to make Triple H look good for his match with Brock. I didn't buy it because it was acting. HBK has been tweeting and stuff. So he broke kayfabe. Moving on.....)

Match#5: David Otunga vs. Big Show
Winner: Big Show
(This was funny to see because basically David Otunga is a jobber again. Big Show made this a short match. I still rooted for Big Show because he is not a heel. He's just being a bad ass. Funny to watch......)

Match#6: Zack Ryder and Kane vs. The Miz and Daniel Bryan
Winner: No Contest
(This was close to being a clusterfuck but thank you Kane for making the match funny and bearable. Kane and DB are going to be in anger management. This will be a good way to kill time with DB and Kane. Zack Ryder was on Raw. He needs a title or something soon.)

Match#7: #1 Contenders Battle Royal: Eve Torres, Kelly Kelly, Kaitlyn, Aksana, Natalya, Alicia Fox, Tamina, Rosa Mendes
Winner and New #1 Contender: Kaitlyn
(Who cares? Not me........)

Match#8: Contract vs. Contract Match: Dolph Ziggler vs. Chris Jericho
Winner: Dolph Ziggler
(Y2J is off to do a tour with Fozzy. So this was a way to get him off TV. Dolph got a pass on this match. Still this was a good match to see. Dolph is the new Y2J. )

Main Event: CM Punk confronts John Cena. CM Punk also confronts Jerry Lawler. CM Punk kicks Lawler.
(I am a true CM Punk fan. He is not getting the respect he should have. This is not a heel move but a real move. CM Punk is the WWE champ but is pushed back because of Triple H and Cena. So let him be ballsy. Lawler did jump the gun assuming that Punk turned heel after taking out the Rock.)

Final Thoughts: This was a good birthday gift. To see CM Punk show his frustration. No more Brock! And Y2J is off TV. This was a good show but still had some shitty matches. I guess this is going to be the week, I will not say alot about this show. I am going to hope that TNA will be better. See you all for TNA Impact..........
