WWE Raw Review 2/4/13

Note: This is going to be a good show because they will announce the induction of Bruno Samartino. Also, there will be no Rock. I just hope they use this show to make more matches for the Elimination Chamber PPV this month. I just want to see if Raw can make a good show with three fucking hours of programming. With that said, here's WWE Monday Night Raw.

Opening Segment: CM Punk comes out and claims to be the people's champ since the Rock stole his title. Booker T. comes out to announce a match with him and either Y2J, RKO, or Rey Mysterio later on tonight for Raw Active.
(Well first of all, Booker T needs to slow down while speaking. His stumble will be featured on Botchamania. Second, why is CM Punk facing someone else? I guess since the Rock is basically a celebrity champion like David Arquette, there will not be any sight of him unless noted. This segment was lame but then again, it might have setup a good match later on in the show.)

Match#1: Ryback vs. Antonio Cesaro
Winner: Ryback
(This was a lame match. It was predictable and very boring. I literally changed channels for a second. I guess Ryback is losing his appeal because he is not getting any fucking competition. This was bullshit for the most part.)

Match#2: Santino Marella vs. Jack Swagger
Winner: Jack Swagger
(This was a good way to make Swagger look good. I love that he never sway from being a heel. I also want to see if he can change his move set. I think he needs a more powerful finisher. His ankle lock is similar to Kurt Angle's. He needs a power slam or something. Sorry Santino, thanks for coming to the show. By the way, love the confrontation with him and Booker T.)

Match#3: Alberto Del Rio vs. Cody Rhodes
Winner: Alberto Del Rio
(Well I like ADR as a face but miss the cars and Ricardo introducing him. ADR is apologizing to the fans and being more himself. I miss Ricardo because he was the man behind the man. Cody Rhodes has a new shirt. So fucking what? This match was setup for ADR to have another confrontation with the Big Show. Love the fact that Big Show is acting like he is an asshole.)

Match#4: Rey Mysterio vs. Daniel Bryan
Winner: Daniel Bryan
(This was a so so match. I did change channels but was glad to change it back. Mark Henry is back and pissed at the fucking world. My god, this man is angry. He takes out Daniel Bryan as he was leaving the ring. He then damn near kills Rey and Sin Cara who was making a half ass attempt to save Rey. Thank you God for Mark Henry coming back to WWE Smackdown and Raw.)

Match#5: Kane vs. Sheamus
Winner: Sheamus with an assist to Daniel Bryan
(Well after the carnage of Mark Henry, Daniel Bryan looks for Kane and asked him why he did not come to save him. Kane did what DB wanted which was to not leave the backstage area during his match. So the match with Kane was a good match. These men can go toe for toe. Loved how they went move for move. Daniel Bryan comes out to talk to Kane but he distract Kane and Sheamus wins. Good match but dumb ending.)

Miz TV: Miz is out and next comes Paul Heyman. Heyman is unaware of why Brock is back in WWE. Vickie Guerrero comes out and says that Brock is under contract to Raw. Both lie and cry through the segment. Miz calls bullshit. Brock's music hits. He takes out Miz after Miz tries to take on Brock. Brock and Heyman leaves after Brock destroys the set.
(Good segment. Love the interaction. So happy to see Brock back. Too bad it is not for long. I hate they are using Miz like a punk.)

Match#6: Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett
Winner: Randy Orton
(This was a SSDD match. Same guys. Same results. Nothing new. Moving on.)

Match#7: Christ Jerricho vs. CM Punk
Winner: CM Punk
(This was the match of the night. I find it funny that their feud was short and sweet but then again, it was to serve a better purpose. This time around, this match was to help people not tune out because no Rock and no real matches. So thank you guys for this lovely match to boost our spirits. This was a godsend.)

Conflict for the WHC: Big Show gets his contract with ADR for their match at the next PPV. However, ADR finds out where he is staying at and they brawl. ADR leaves Big Show on the ground in the hallway after they brawl.
(This made me remember the brawl with Edge and Cena. This was good. I love that WWE is back to TV 14. No more kid friendly shit. People don't want to see all this mess on Monday nights. That's why they have a Saturday morning show. This was laid out well and helped the hype for their match at the PPV.)

Main Event: Before John Cena comes out to call out the Shield, Brad Maddox comes out to do the same thing. The Shield comes out. He is powerbombed and The Shield was about to leave when Cena, Sheamus, and Ryback comes out to face the Shield. Also the rest of the faces in the WWE block them from leaving. There was a brawl and show ends with The Shield leaving and the faces in the ring.
(This was ok. I knew this was going to lead to a dark match for the crowd but not for the tv viewers. Nothing else to say.)

Final Thoughts: Well this was better than most weeks. The ending was bland but it set up a match for the local crowd. As for the rest of the show, it still needs work. I loved the Punk/Jerricho match. I love the brawl with ADR and Big Show. It looks like Smackdown should be great this weekend. So I guess I am off until the next TNA offering.
