TNA Impact Review 10/3/13

Note: Well it has been a while since we have seen a taped show from TNA. I was so use to the PPV shows on TV and the live shows that I forgot that TNA was trying to compete with WWE. So we got a situation like WWE where AJ Styles is the CM Punk character and Dixie Carter is the Triple H/Vince McMahon character. We will find out if Hogan will still be in TNA or finally retire in peace. What kills me is that this is more anticipated than the Smackdown show for tomorrow. With that said, let's dive into TNA Impact...

Opening Segment: AJ Styles comes out to talk about his opponent for Bound For Glory: Bully Ray. After a few minutes of predictions, Bully Ray comes out and says he will end his career like he did for Devon and others. AJ Styles says he has a match with Samoa Joe tonight.
(This was kind of lost on me. I was use to seeing AJ Styles as a loner but now he's back to normal, it is going to take a while to adjust to things. Watching this was unbearable because of Bully Ray. I have tried to like him as a heel but some weeks, I cannot. I still see him as a tag team with Devon. I know TNA wants him as a heel but it is not working again on me. However, he did play his role for this purpose. Plus I want to see Samoa Joe vs. Bully Ray. )

Match#1: Jeff Hardy and Manik vs. Kenny King and Chris Sabin
Winners: Jeff Hardy and Manik
(I bitched about not seeing X Division matches. Did I get one? Kind of...I got to see three good X Division guys in the ring but what the fuck is Jeff Hardy doing in the mix? I did not care how this match ended but I was distracted with the fact that TNA is still making Jeff Hardy a big deal. After this match, we will get a Destination X match at the PPV for the X Division Title with Jeff Hardy in the mix. Why? Let the young guys go and put Jeff Hardy in a mid card match. What the fuck?)

Match#2 Part 1: Magnus vs. Chistopher Daniels
Winner: Magnus

Match#2 Part 2: Magus vs. Kaz
Winner: Magnus

Match#2 Part 3: Magnus vs. Bobby Roode
Winner: Bobby Roode
(I did this because I wanted to break down each match as it happened. Chris Daniels is a good wrestler and does deserve to have some credit for being a good worker. He can go and is to me an unsung TNA champion. Magnus did not make this a quick first match but it was good to make this the first match of the gauntlet. Unlike Daniels, Kaz is a quiet worker. He has been in some good matches that people don't talk about. He is a true TNA player. I think he could be a good champion. His match with Magnus was quick but Kaz at least soften him up for Roode. Bobby Roode has grown on me because he finally shed the tag team stigma and is a main eventer. I wanted to see Magnus go through all three men but it was better to see Roode take out Magnus. After the match, it would have been better to not seen the setup for a shitty match with Magnus and Sting. Why? I think Sting needs to retire. )

Match#3: Velvet Sky vs. Brooke Tessmacher
Winner: No Contest
(No Gail Kim...No Mickie James...No ODB...No real TNA KO competition. This would have been a boring match with a shitload of tits and ass. This would have been a FAP flopping match. So did I like Lei'd Tapia interrupting this match? Not really because this was just a bad segment. Why add more shit to a bad match? I wish I knew. )

Main Event: Samoa Joe vs. Bully Ray
Winner: Samoa Joe by DQ
(I would have loved to see this end clean but I think this was more for the setup to the title match. Seeing this match as the main event is proof that Samoa Joe is back to being a real main eventer. Seeing AJ Styles saving Samoa Joe was classic. This would have been a good way to end the show but we have to see the shitty drama with Dixie Carter and Hogan. )

After The Main Event: Dixie Carter came out to get Hulk Hogan's answer about joining "Team Dixie". Hogan quits. Dixie attempts to stop Hogan on the ramp. She goes as far as to getting on her knees and begs him to stay, Hogan walked away. Dixie flipped out to close the show.
(Well seeing that this was a taped show and most people knew that Hogan was done with TNA in advance, it was a bittersweet thing seeing Hogan walk off TNA TV. As a fan of Hogan's, I think he needs to finally move on from wrestling. He can't wrestle because of his back. He barely can walk. He is just a nostalgic reminder of most kid's childhood of the 80's and 90's. Dixie Carter cannot act. She comes out as stiff and ditzy. Stephanie McMahon plays a better bitch than Dixie Carter.)

Final Thoughts: Well this was a good show with lots of shitty parts. I think Bound For Glory will be a good PPV but then again, last year's was better with the setup and matches. What's funny is that last year's BFG PPV was the best review I had since doing these blog reviews. I know I will not be able to top that but hope TNA will try to top last year's BFG PPV. So hopefully we get some good matches and some good memories. See you all for WWE Smackdown. They have a PPV this weekend that people will either forget or bitch about forever.
